Action Radiotherapy took part in a BBC 5live Investigates programme on Sunday 7 December 2014. The programme looked at the ways NHS England is preventing patients accessing an advanced form of radiotherapy called SABR. You can listen to the programme here (the SABR feature starts at 25:49)

We have launched a petition calling on NHS England to stop the cuts to radiotherapy funding. Please sign it and make your voice heard.

Action Radiotherapy is the UK’s only nationwide charity dedicated to improving radiotherapy treatment.

We are campaigning to improve patient access to advanced radiotherapy on the NHS.

Every NHS patient should have access to the best radiotherapy for their type of cancer. If you are able to, please donate to support our work in this area and to help us keep the pressure on NHS England.

If you are a patient who has been denied access to advanced radiotherapy, please email us at

As well as working to improve radiotherapy access for cancer patients, Action Radiotherapy also supports radiotherapy professionals. Radiotherapy teams in the NHS are highly dedicated but have been working with a severe lack of funding for many years. We help support healthcare professionals across the country by providing a range of services, information and resources.

As a charity, we do not receive any government funding and rely entirely on public donations to continue our work. There are a number of ways you can support us. Even if you are not able to make a financial donation, you can help us raise awareness of radiotherapy by connecting to our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
