Barrow hospital to spend £55k on taxis

Hospital bosses in Furness are expected to spend £55,000 on taxi fares from hospital in the next year. South Lakes MP Tim Farron said: “Part of the cost goes on helping patients travel for specialist treatment like radiotherapy and again shows why we need a radiotherapy unit at Westmorland General Hospital. Asking people to make that gruelling two-hour round trip for treatment is unacceptable.”
