Breakthrough cancer research at The Christie is to be extended across Europe

A number of people with rectal cancer will be able to avoid surgery without their treatment being undermined, according to a study from the research team at the world famous cancer treatment centre in Withington. Professor Andrew Renehan, who led the study, said: “We are looking for predictors like genes, and different ways of adapting the chemo/radiotherapy to make it even more effective in more people.”
