Cambridge University Hospitals named as specialist radiotherapy centre

CUH is one of 17 radiotherapy centres in Britain chosen by NHS England to provide the specialist radiotherapy, known as Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), to patients suffering with benign or malignant brain tumours. Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is a non-surgical radiation therapy used to treat functional abnormalities and small tumours of the brain. Building work is currently underway for the installation of the state-of-the-art machine to deliver the SRS – the TrueBeam™ STx with Novalis® Radiosurgery – and the service will be up-and-running later this year.
