Colchester General Hospital: Police probe cancer treatment

A hospital cancer unit is being investigated by police after staff said they were being “pressured or bullied” to falsify data relating to patients. “Inaccuracies” were found with waiting time data relating to cancer treatment at Colchester hospital, the Care Quality Commission found. Government guidelines state patients should wait no longer than 31 days for surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy after their doctor has decided on the best course of treatment.
