Elvis impersonator sees prostate cancer removed in an hour thanks to new treatment

Within 48 hours of having his prostate cancer operation, Elvis impersonator Alan Moore was back on stage performing his idol’s greatest hits to the delight of his fans. The 58-year-old great-grandfather from Codnor, Derbyshire, who was diagnosed with the disease in October 2014, was told he would need to have his prostate gland removed. Yet thanks to a minimally invasive treatment called low-dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy, Alan was on the road to recovery within hours of having his procedure.
