Family of Brit boy, aged 11, raise £20k in 3 days for lifesaving cancer treatment in US

A boy suffering from an extremely rare form of cancer has travelled to America for lifesaving surgery – after hundreds donated cash to his cause. Ben Carter is 11-years-old and has been diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma of the larynx. Having undergone regular surgery to continually remove the tumour and extensive chemotherapy at home in Benington in Hertfordshire, on Monday he arrived in Florida with his family for proton therapy.
