Maggie’s Centres

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, at Maggie’s you can talk to, and get support from, a range of professionals. Their Centres are staffed by Cancer Support Specialists, Benefits Advisors, Nutritionists and Psychologists who deliver an evidence based programme of support and can help in whichever way best suits your needs, whether you are a person with cancer, worried about cancer, or affected in some way by someone else’s cancer. You can find advice about practical matters such as benefits and eating well, talk to qualified experts, meet other people or simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

Their website also provides a host of high quality information including which hospitals host Maggie’s centres and available courses, groups, meetings and activities as well as links to other organisations which provide help, support and advice.
