Gwynedd woman first in UK to qualify as a reconstructive scientist

A Gwynedd woman has become the first person in the UK to graduate as a reconstructive scientist. As part of her course she also created a so-called “head phantom” which allows students to check doses of radiotherapy needed for cancer patients. Kelly said: “The basic concept is that the head phantom would be used to verify radiotherapy treatment plans for patients with head and neck cancer.”
