Image guidance for proton therapy

The dose delivered during proton therapy is exquisitely sensitive to geometric and anatomic variations. Incorporating imaging into the treatment delivery chain can help monitor and address inter-fraction changes and set-up errors. Speaking at the recent 3rd ESTRO Forum in Barcelona, James Metz from the University of Pennsylvania explained how such image guidance has been implemented at Penn Medicine’s Roberts Proton Therapy Center.
