A University of Colorado Cancer Centre study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology explores mortality in the window following the use of surgery or focused radiotherapy to treat early-stage lung cancer.

    This research is of great potential interest for England in view of the possible introduction fairly soon of opportunistic screening for early stage lung cancer by CT scan, and the availability of SABR in this country. The implications for radiotherapy services do not yet seem to have been considered.
