Mum refuses radiotherapy for her toddler’s brain tumour after NHS vetoes proton beam treatment

The mum of a toddler ­who ­survived a rare brain tumour ­despite ­being given eight weeks to live is facing a new battle. Natalie Hayward desperately wants two-year-old Theo Clennon to have ­proton beam therapy, like the treatment given to little Aysha King. But the NHS will not fund the costs of the treatment saying Theo’s type of cancer is too aggressive.
