New weapon in cancer fight to be unveiled at Leicester Royal Infirmary

Cutting-edge cancer treatment will be provided in Leicester using a new radiotherapy machine. A True Beam Linear Accelerator (Linac) machine will be unveiled in the Osborne Building at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Wednesday. University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the first centres in England to benefit from a national £130 million investment programme to upgrade radiotherapy treatment machines.
