Tim Farron, Member of Parliament for Westmorland and Lonsdale and the former leader of the Liberal Democrats, will officially become a Patron of Action Radiotherapy on World Cancer Day, February 4th 2018.
Tim is a passionate advocate for radiotherapy and has campaigned extensively for a radiotherapy unit in Westmorland General Hospital. He recently arranged a radiotherapy reception in parliament, where he met experts from across Britain to shine a light on radiotherapy and the benefits that it can bring to patients and in improving cancer outcomes.
Professor Pat Price, Chair of Action Radiotherapy, said: “I’m delighted that Tim Farron MP has become a Patron, joining our other Patrons; Lord Wade of Chorlton and Lord Thomas of Macclesfield. This gives Action Radiotherapy true cross-party support. I know how dedicated Tim is to improving radiotherapy services in the UK and we are extremely grateful for his support of our charitable work.”
