Romanian health service in crisis as doctors leave for UK and other states

The Romanian health service is facing a crisis as thousands of highly skilled doctors leave to work in the UK and other European countries, according to the president of the Romanian College of Physicians. Professor Vasile Astarastoae said: “In Romania, with a population of 19 million, there are only 48 doctors specialising in radiotherapy, despite having high rates of cancer in the country.”
