RSNA: investigating X-ray fluorescence CT

X-ray fluorescence CT (XFCT) is an imaging technique that shows promise for identifying the location and concentration of gold nanoparticles in vivo. While XFCT is usually performed with kilovoltage X-ray beams, researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine are investigating whether the technique can be used for beam tracking in proton therapy and in radiotherapy delivered with very-high-energy electron (VHEE) scanning beams.
