Shorter radiotherapy fractionation schedule feasible for localized prostate cancer

A hypofractionated radiotherapy regimen administered in 20 fractions over 4 weeks was noninferior to conventional radiotherapy given as 39 fractions over 8 weeks without compromising safety in patients with localized prostate cancer, findings presented at the 2016 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting indicate.
