This schoolgirl’s remarkable fight has taken her thousands of miles from home

Eight-year-old Caroline Brown has been given aBraveheart award at a ceremony at St James’ Park. Caroline, from Alnwick, Northumberland, was diagnosed with a parameningeal tumour in March and has been through a rollercoaster ride as she battled for recovery. She underwent chemotherapy in Newcastle and then went on to have Proton Beam radiotherapy in Oklahoma in America as the treatment is not available here.
