Treatment of head and neck paragangliomas

Commonly occurring in the head and neck, paragangliomas are typically benign, highly vascular neoplasms embryologically originating from the extra-adrenal paraganglia of the neural crest. Primary radiotherapy may be delivered with conventional external beam radiotherapy, stereotactic radio-surgery, or hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy — all of these approaches have excellent rates of local control and outcomes.
