Use of upfront TKIs linked to inferior OS in EGFR+ NSCLC with brain metastases

The use of upfront epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and deferral of radiotherapy are associated with inferior overall survival in patients with EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who develop brain metastases, according to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
