Management of brain metastases from lung cancer and several other primary cancers has been evolving over the past decade, with greater research, wider availability, and more general reliance on stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for management of brain metastases, which in turn has been associated with a greater avoidance of whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT), at least for patients with a limited number of brain metastases.
