Here at the Berkshire Cancer Centre, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, we are very excited to be in a position to advertise a lead Technical and Development radiographer post. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and developing this new role across both our Reading and Bracknell sites, whilst demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of motivation. You will be expected to lead service development in line with our departmental vision and NHSE Strategy. Working within your scope of practice, it is expected that you will lead and coordinate service development and act as an expert practitioner within the radiotherapy department.

Quality, Risk and Governance Lead Radiographer - (Band 8a)

Career Grade / Lead Clinical Scientist (Band 7/8a)

Applications are welcome from experienced Registered Clinical Scientists.

Applications from less experienced candidates are also encouraged who would be initially appointed at a Band 7 until the following competencies are met:

  • Management / Leadership - Evidence of communication, advice to colleagues, report writing, managing change.

  • Service Development - Undertake a service development new to either the Newcastle or Carlisle site e.g. Collapsed Cone calculation use in Radcalc, Photon Monte Carlo planning for a specific disease site, etc.

  • Procedure implementation and monitoring - Overseeing a change in technique at Carlisle to one used at NUTH e.g. VMAT for a specific disease site, dropping DQAs for certain sites, Planning from 4DCT/MRI, gated delivery, etc.

  • Teaching / Training - Lecture on MSc or FRCR courses, undertake training of dosimetrists/physicist in an aspect of RayStation/Aria/Radcalc use.

Radiotherapy Physics Dosimetrist - (Band 7)

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UCLH, London

We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Planning Radiographer/dosimetrist to join the dosimetry team as part of the radiotherapy and proton therapy physics team. Applicants should be State Registered or equivalent. Experience of IMRT/VMAT and conformal planning is essential and knowledge or experience of pencil-beam proton planning is desirable. The successful applicant will join a growing team of dosimetrists liaising closely with physics, clinical and radiographic staff in the in the provision of radiotherapy and proton therapy physics services. The ability to work effectively with the minimum of supervision is essential.

Radiotherapy Physicist - (Band 7)

We are looking for an enthusiastic medical physicist to assist a team of physicists, engineers and dosimetrists/technologists in the provision of radiotherapy physics services. Applicants should have state-registration or be eligible and have completed the STP training scheme or equivalent radiotherapy physics experience. Trainees who are close to completing their training are encouraged to apply. The work involves contact with patients and the ability to communicate clearly and sympathetically with patients having a variety of backgrounds is essential.

Radiotherapy Physicist - (Band 7)

We are seeking to appoint two radiotherapy physicists to participate in all the work of the department (including treatment planning, dosimetry, QA, and brachytherapy).
